Information for Parents

What types of childcare can KiddiVouchers be used for?

You can use KiddiVouchers for many kinds of childcare. Your childcare provider must be either Registered with Ofsted (or the equivalent authority in Scotland, Wales or Northern Ireland) or Approved under the voluntary Childcare Approval Scheme.

KiddiVouchers can be used to pay for:

  • Nurseries and playgroups
  • Registered and Approved childminders
  • Registered and Approved holiday play-schemes
  • Out-of-hours clubs on school premises run by a school or local authority
  • Care provided by nannies and sitters can sometimes be paid for using KiddiVouchers. Click here to see more details.

KiddiVouchers cover children up to 16 years old.

How can I check whether my childcare provider is eligible to accept KiddiVouchers?

Your childcare provider will be able to tell you if they have Registered or Approved status. If not, they can easily become Approved through the Childcare Approval Scheme.

Will my nursery or carer accept KiddiVouchers?

Most childcare providers are happy to accept KiddiVouchers. We recommend that you ask your nursery or carer if they will accept childcare vouchers before you join a KiddiVouchers scheme. If you would like us to send an information pack to your nursery or carer, please email us their name and address by clicking here.
